The School of Law at SASTRA Deemed University, established in 2008, aims to provide comprehensive legal education integrated with social studies, business, and economics. It has produced numerous legal professionals who excel in various fields, including advocacy, policymaking, and corporate consultancy.
About the Competition:
The Nani Palkhivala Memorial National Tax Moot Court Competition pays homage to the legendary advocate, Mr. Nani Palkhivala, renowned for his expertise in taxation law. Hosted by the School of Law, SASTRA Deemed University, this annual event serves as a tribute to his exceptional contributions to the legal profession.
Eligibility:
Students enrolled in either a 3-year LLB program or a 5-year integrated LLB program at a recognized university are eligible to participate. Each team can consist of a maximum of three members, with two speakers and one researcher.
Theme:
The moot proposition is based on Tax laws.
Prizes:
– Winner: Trophy and Cash Prize of Rs. 50,000/-
– Runner Up: Trophy and Cash Prize of Rs. 25,000/-
– Best Memorial: Trophy and Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000/-
– Best Speaker: Trophy and Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000/-
– Best Researcher: Trophy and Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000/-

– Online Rounds (Pre-Quarter and Quarter Final): 16th and 17th March 2024

Registration Fee:
A registration fee of Rs. 3540/- must be paid via National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) by 13th March 2024.
Registration Procedure:
Teams must register by filling and submitting the Google form provided in the link provided. The registration deadline is 15th February 2024. Additionally, teams must submit a copy of the invoice of the registration fee payment to sms.nani@sastra.ac.in.
