About the Event

The 1st CCI-MNLUCS National Antitrust Moot Court Competition 2025 aims to provide a robust platform for law students to engage in critical discourse on contemporary competition law issues. Designed for aspirants looking to build careers in litigation, policy, and regulatory law, this competition simulates real-world legal problem-solving. Participants will develop skills in legal research, drafting, oral advocacy, and courtroom strategy—specifically in the context of antitrust jurisprudence. The hybrid format ensures accessibility while also preserving the intensity of physical court advocacy.

Format and Structure

The competition will be conducted in two stages:

- Advertisement -
  • Stage I (Online): Preliminary and Quarter-Final Rounds
  • Stage II (Offline): Semi-Final and Final Rounds at MNLUCS campus

Each team must submit memorials for both the petitioner and respondent. Oral rounds will be evaluated based on legal reasoning, argument structure, court etiquette, and responses to judicial queries. Teams will be judged anonymously through a unique code system. The moot problem focuses on critical themes in antitrust law including abuse of dominance, data privacy, and regulatory overreach.

Eligibility:
Open to students enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year undergraduate law degree. Each institution may send a maximum of two teams.

  • Stage II (Offline Rounds – Qualified Teams): ₹3,000 (includes food & accommodation)

Mentors/Judges:
Panels of legal professionals, academicians, and representatives from CCI and SCC Online.

Team/Individual:
Team of 2–3 students (2 speakers + 1 researcher). Two-member teams will have dual roles.

Q1: Who is eligible to participate?
A: Law students currently enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year law program.

Q2: Is a recommendation/reference required?
A: No, references are not required at the registration stage.

Q3: Will all participants receive a certificate?
A: Yes, all registered participants will be awarded certificates of participation or merit.

Q4: Is there a registration fee?
A: Yes. ₹4,500 for virtual rounds and ₹3,000 (additional) for offline qualifiers.

Q5: Can international students apply?
A: No. The competition is open to Indian law schools only.
