About the Event

The 2nd National Workshop-cum-Competition on Drafting and Pleading is a two-day event organized by NLIU-CCJC, scheduled for October 26-27, 2024. Following the success of the inaugural workshop, this year’s event promises to provide participants with a deep understanding of drafting legal documents and the skills required for effective advocacy. Through interactive sessions led by legal experts, participants will learn the intricacies of legal drafting and pleading, critical skills for any aspiring lawyer.

Workshop Structure

The workshop is designed to offer a blend of theoretical insights and practical exercises in legal drafting. Over the course of six sessions, participants will receive guidance on drafting legal documents, strategies for effective pleadings, and essential advocacy techniques. The final session will include a Drafting Competition, allowing participants to apply their newly acquired skills by preparing legal drafts based on a case problem provided during the event.

Drafting Competition

As an integral part of the workshop, the Drafting Competition will test participants’ ability to draft legal documents in response to a given legal scenario. Participants will be judged based on their ability to draft clear, persuasive, and legally sound documents.

Prizes and Recognition

Participants will have the chance to win cash prizes:

  • Winner: ₹15,000
  • First Runner-up: ₹10,000
  • Second Runner-up: ₹5,000

Additionally, top performers will be awarded internship opportunities at Dr. Aman Hingorani’s Chambers, offering valuable real-world experience in the legal profession. All participants will receive Certificates of Participation, enhancing their academic portfolios.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Aman Hingorani

Dr. Aman Hingorani, Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India and renowned international trainer in advocacy and mediation skills, will lead the workshop sessions. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Hingorani has trained judicial officers, lawyers, and law students, and has contributed to significant legal reforms through his work in both India and abroad.
