Call for Papers: 4th NLIU Global Symposium on Labour and Employment Laws (GSLEL) 2025
The Centre for Labour Laws (CLL) at the National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal, is pleased to announce the 4th NLIU Global Symposium on Labour and Employment Laws (GSLEL), scheduled to be held on 22nd-23rd March 2025 at the J.S. Verma Convention Centre, NLIU Bhopal.
About the Centre for Labour Laws (CLL)
Established in 2019, the Centre for Labour Laws (CLL) is a pioneering initiative dedicated to advancing labour rights and promoting social justice for workers across India. CLL has been at the forefront of addressing critical labour issues, including the plight of migrant workers during the COVID-19 pandemic through its Mazdoor Mitra initiative. Over the years, CLL has engaged in legal advocacy, awareness campaigns, and collaborative efforts with stakeholders to empower workers and ensure their rights are protected.
About the 4th NLIU GSLEL
The 4th NLIU Global Symposium on Labour and Employment Laws (GSLEL) aims to provide a global platform for academics, practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and students to discuss and deliberate on emerging issues in labour and employment laws. The symposium will feature paper presentations, panel discussions, and technical sessions led by eminent experts in the field.

Note: Authors may choose any sub-theme or propose a related topic aligned with the central theme.
Submission Categories
The symposium invites submissions in the following categories:
- Long Articles (5,000–8,000 words): Comprehensive analysis of the theme with innovative insights. Co-authorship of up to two authors is permitted.
- Essays (3,000–5,000 words): Concise papers focusing on specific issues with clear arguments. Co-authorship of up to two authors is permitted.
- Case Notes and Legislative Comments (1,500–2,500 words): Analysis of recent judicial decisions or legislative developments. Co-authorship is not permitted.
Submission Guidelines
- Abstract Submission:
- Submit an abstract of 300–500 words summarizing the arguments and including 3–5 keywords.
- Include a cover letter with authors’ biographical details (name, qualifications, institutional affiliation, and contact information).
- Deadline: 15th February 2025.
- Full Paper Submission:
- Selected authors must submit full papers by 2nd March 2025.
- Format: MS Word, Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 line spacing, justified, 1-inch margins. Footnotes in font size 10, single-spaced.
- Citations must follow the OSCOLA (Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities) style.
- Registration:
- Registration fees:
- Indian Academicians/Professionals/PhD Scholars: INR 2,500 per author.
- Indian Students: INR 2,000 per author.
- Foreign Authors: USD 75 per author.
- Deadline for registration and payment: 9th March 2025.
