About the Workshop & Training Programme

The Legal Aid Clinic (LAC) of NLIU, in collaboration with Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys, is organizing the 4th NLIU-LAC Workshop & Training Programme (WTP): Paralegal Training and Competition. Scheduled for March 15-16, 2025, the event is designed to enhance students’ skills in handling real-life cases, providing legal advice, and managing legal aid centers effectively.

This two-day event includes:
✔ Panel Discussions with industry experts
✔ Paralegal Training Sessions on legal aid operations
✔ Client Counselling Competition to test advisory skills

The competition will assess participants’ ability to analyze case facts, provide legal opinions, and respond to judicial queries.

Competition Format & Structure

• Written Submissions: Participants will draft legal opinions for cases assigned before the event.
• Oral Rounds: Includes fact-gathering, legal opinion presentation, and client counseling.
• Advanced Rounds: Top 8 teams from preliminaries will proceed to detailed legal consultations.
