About the Event

The 5th National Moot Court Competition 2024 is a prestigious event organized by the MAIMS Moot Court Society (MCS) in collaboration with the Bar Council of Delhi. This event aims to provide law students from across India with a platform to showcase their advocacy and research skills while engaging in a challenging yet professional environment.

The competition is divided into online preliminary rounds and offline final rounds, allowing participants to demonstrate their capabilities in a real-world setting. Participants will engage in critical legal debates, working on case studies and moot problems that will test their legal acumen and argumentation skills. The event will culminate with the celebration of India’s 75th Constitution Day on November 26, 2024.

Competition Format

The competition will follow a structured four-round format:

  1. Preliminary Rounds (I & II): Online (November 9, 2024)
  2. Quarter Final Round: Offline (November 25, 2024)
  3. Semi-Final Round: Offline (November 25, 2024)
  4. Final Round: Offline (November 26, 2024)

Awards & Prizes

Participants in the 5th National Moot Court Competition 2024 will compete for exciting cash prizes:

  • Best Team: INR 51,000
  • Runner-Up Team: INR 31,000
  • Best Speaker: INR 11,000
  • Best Memorial: INR 11,000
  • Best Researcher: INR 11,000

Registration Details

  • Registration Fee: INR 3,000 for Phase I (Preliminary Rounds) and INR 3,000 for Phase II (Advanced Rounds)

Formatting & Submission Guidelines

  • Memorial Submission: Participants must submit their memorials by October 20, 2024, in accordance with the competition rules.
  • Team Composition: Each team must consist of three members—two speakers and one researcher.
  • Eligibility: Only law students pursuing a three-year LL.B or five-year integrated LL.B (Hons.) program from a recognized institution/university are eligible to participate.
  • Preliminary Rounds: Conducted in online mode, the top 8 teams will qualify for the Quarter Finals.

Location

The final rounds of the 5th National Moot Court Competition 2024 will be held offline at the Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies (MAIMS), Rohini, Delhi.
