About the Moot Court Competition
The 9th National Moot Court Competition will simulate the complexities of courtroom proceedings, where participants will analyze legal problems, research applicable laws, and prepare written and oral arguments. The competition is designed to expose participants to recent legal developments, focusing on unsettled areas of law. It provides a platform for aspiring lawyers to hone their persuasive advocacy skills in a realistic court setting.

Location
The competition will be held at Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India.
Eligibility and Team Composition
- Open to students pursuing a 3-year or 5-year integrated law degree in India.
- Each team should consist of 2 speakers and 1 researcher.
- Teams can register from the same institute, but no cross-institutional teams are allowed.
Format of the Competition
The competition includes:
- Preliminary Rounds
- Quarterfinals
- Semi-Finals
- Final Rounds
Each round will test the participants’ ability to present their legal arguments and respond to judges’ queries. Teams must prepare memorials from both sides (Appellant and Respondent) for the competition.
Memorial Submission Guidelines
- Memorials must be prepared from both sides (Appellant and Respondent).
- The soft copy of the memorial must be submitted by November 8, 2024, via email in PDF format to nmccsvsl@gmail.com.
- Teams are required to bring three hard copies of each memorial on the day of the event (six copies in total).
Registration Fee
- INR 4500 per team.
- Early bird discount: The first five teams to register will receive a 10% discount.
Awards and Prizes
- Best Team: Trophy + Cash Prize of INR 21,000
- Runners-Up Team: Trophy + Cash Prize of INR 11,000
- Best Memorial: Cash Prize of INR 3,000
- Best Researcher: Cash Prize of INR 3,000
- Best Mooter: Cash Prize of INR 3,000
- Participation and merit certificates will be awarded to all participants qualifying for the quarterfinals and beyond.
Additional Information
- A researcher’s test will be conducted to evaluate the best researcher.
- Social Night is scheduled for November 23, 2024.
- Accommodation will be suggested by the organizers, though the responsibility for booking lies with the participants.
