About the Opportunity

Axis Bank is offering a 6-month gig position as a Legal Associate. This dynamic role provides a platform for law professionals to engage in diverse banking-related legal matters, ranging from credit documentation to regulatory compliance. Contract renewal will depend on individual performance and project requirements, offering further growth opportunities for outstanding candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Branch Support: Provide guidance on legal questions involving credit, foreclosure, collections, contracts, and operational issues.
• Legal Opinions: Advise on laws including banking regulations, RBI guidelines, FEMA, and company law.
• Credit Documentation: Draft and review documents for unique business requirements.
• Advisory Roles: Support structured finance, capital market transactions, insolvency issues, and IP matters.
• Litigation Management: Handle complex litigation and collaborate with external counsel.
• Product Advisory: Offer legal advice for marketing, product development, and compliance.
• Contract Review: Examine and negotiate vendor contracts for operational alignment.
• Real Estate Support: Draft and vet property agreements like leases and ATM contracts.
• Legal Updates: Monitor legal changes and update teams to ensure compliance.
• Cost Management: Liaise with and evaluate external counsel to manage legal costs effectively.

Qualifications

• Education: Law Degree (LLB and above) recognized by the Bar Council of India.
• Experience: Proven legal experience within the banking industry.

• Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex legal concepts.
• Communication: Proficient in explaining legal matters to varied audiences.
• Technical Knowledge: Expertise in legal frameworks and banking operations.
