About the Event

The Law & Technology Society of NMIMS School of Law, Hyderabad presents LexTech DraftCon 2025, a first-of-its-kind national-level policy and legal drafting competition.

With the central theme: “Shaping India’s Regulatory Landscape for Artificial Intelligence”, the event challenges law and tech enthusiasts to frame innovative, implementable, and ethical legislative/policy proposals around AI.

Participants will draft frameworks addressing real-world AI regulation challenges, receive expert feedback, and get a chance to present their ideas in a national forum. The event promotes cross-disciplinary learning, critical thinking, and policymaking aligned with India’s emerging digital governance goals.

Format and Structure

The event consists of the following stages:

  • Registration Stage: Individuals or teams of 2 must register and pay the applicable fee.
  • Problem Release & Submission: Each team will receive a sub-theme-specific problem and must submit a legal draft (up to 4000 words) aligned with it. Options include drafting a Bill, Policy Framework, or Guidelines.
  • Evaluation Stage: Experts in law and tech will review submissions based on innovation, legal structure, feasibility, and depth.
  • Presentation Stage: Top 4 teams will present their drafts virtually to a judging panel, followed by Q&A.
  • Valedictory Ceremony: Winners and special awards will be announced.
