About the Organization
The London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) is a pre-eminent international institution with over 130 years of history in shaping the global dispute resolution landscape. Recognised for its institutional independence, international reach, and “gold standard” case management services, the LCIA has been at the forefront of promoting confidence in arbitration.
The LCIA’s Secretariat is comprised of highly qualified lawyers from more than 10 jurisdictions, led by a Registrar and Deputy Registrar, and under the overall leadership of the Director General and Deputy Director General. About the Event
As part of its expansion, the LCIA is seeking two enthusiastic and motivated lawyers to join its busy Casework team as Junior Counsel. These newly created positions will strengthen the LCIA’s ability to deliver efficient and effective case management of the highest standard.
The Junior Counsel roles will provide selected candidates with the opportunity to work within an experienced, knowledgeable, and diverse team while gaining in-depth exposure to international arbitration procedures.

Format and Structure
The Casework Team is divided into two groups, each led by the Registrar or Deputy Registrar. Junior Counsel will be assigned to a specific team and report directly to the relevant Senior Counsel.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Managing a small allocation of cases.
- Assisting Counsel in updating procedural timetables in the internal case management system.
- Covering and progressing cases during Counsel’s leave, under Senior Counsel supervision.
Evaluation will be based on professional competence, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written formats.

- Venue: LCIA Office, London, UK (close to St Paul’s Cathedral)
- Mode: Hybrid (In-office and remote working options)

Eligibility – Essential Requirements:
- Law graduate (LLB or equivalent, or higher qualification).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in international arbitration (preferred).
- Strong time management, administrative, and numeracy skills.
- Ability to identify risk and compliance issues early.
- Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and prioritise effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build internal and external relationships.
Desirable Skills:
- Professional experience in Africa and/or the Middle East.
- Proficiency in Arabic.
