About the Event

The Internship Programme at the Department of Legal Affairs is designed to acquaint young law students and graduates with the functioning of the department. Interns will gain practical exposure in:

  • Tendering legal advice in specialized fields of law including constitutional & administrative law, finance law, labour law, contract law, and arbitration

Format and Structure

The programme will run for one month. Applicants are required to fill the online form and upload necessary documents including a No Objection Certificate (if applicable).

Evaluation will be based on:

  • Legal research quality
  • Clarity of drafting
  • Analytical skills
  • Performance during deployment with officers/sections

A final report submission will be required at the end of the internship to the Admin-1(LA). Certificates will be issued only upon satisfactory completion.

  • Venue: Main Secretariat, New Delhi; Central Agency Section at Supreme Court; Litigation HC Section at Delhi; Branch Secretariats at Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru
  • Mode: Offline (full-time, physical internship)
