About the Opportunity
Applications are invited for the position of Researcher cum Field Investigator for a short-term, full-time research engagement under the project titled:
“Unveiling Women’s Workplace Realities: A Study of the Functioning of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity in Hyderabad and Bengaluru’s IT Industry.”
The study focuses on examining how laws, ESG mandates, and DEI measures shape the IT sector in India. It will use a mixed-methods approach, analyzing company reports, corporate DEI/ESG policies, and conducting on-ground surveys and interviews to assess inclusivity, workplace culture, and gender equity.
This is a unique opportunity for early-career researchers and postgraduate students interested in law, gender studies, sociology, public policy, and workplace governance. Selected candidates will gain exposure to both desk research and fieldwork, working directly with company representatives, employees, and stakeholders.
Position Details
- Role: Researcher cum Field Investigator
- Number of Positions: 02 (one in Hyderabad and one in Bengaluru)
- Duration: 3 months (full-time engagement)
- Remuneration: ₹30,000 per month (consolidated stipend)
- Field Work Requirement: 50 days in 3 months per person

Responsibilities
Selected candidates will be expected to:
- Design and coordinate research tools, frameworks, and timelines.
- Conduct desk reviews of company reports, policies, and existing literature.
- Administer surveys and interviews in IT companies.
- Ensure ethical data collection, accurate recording, and confidentiality.
- Draft briefs, presentations, and research reports.
- Liaise with corporate representatives and stakeholders.
- Maintain research ethics and follow university protocols.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have:
- A Master’s degree in Law, Gender Studies, Sociology, Public Policy, Development Studies, or related disciplines.
- Prior research and fieldwork experience.
- Familiarity with DEI, labour laws, ESG, and workplace inclusivity frameworks.
- Proficiency in MS Office (knowledge of NVivo, SPSS, or R is desirable).
- Strong communication skills in local languages (Kannada or Telugu).
- Ability to travel locally for field surveys.
