Job Opportunity: AGM/DGM – Legal Contracts

Everrenew is seeking a highly skilled AGM/DGM – Legal Contracts professional to join its Legal Division based in Chennai. This pivotal role requires managing the entire contract lifecycle for renewable energy projects, including drafting, negotiating, executing, and managing contracts across the organization’s various business verticals.

As a key member of the legal team, you will work closely with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure that Everrenew’s contracts are well-structured, legally compliant, and risk-mitigated. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution and completion of large-scale renewable energy projects, aligning with Everrenew’s mission to build a cleaner, greener future.

Key Responsibilities

As the AGM/DGM – Legal Contracts, you will take the lead in handling complex contracts across various domains in renewable energy. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

1. Contracts Development & Management:

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), asset management, and other legal agreements for renewable energy projects.
• Implement robust contract management processes to ensure efficiency and alignment with company goals.
• Conduct periodic audits and risk assessments of contracts to identify any potential legal or financial risks and take corrective action as necessary.

1. Legal & Regulatory Compliance:

• Stay informed about current laws, regulations, and industry standards in the renewable energy sector.
• Ensure all contracts comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements in India and other regions where Everrenew operates.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders, ensuring the organization adheres to legal best practices.

1. Risk Management:

• Identify and assess contractual risks related to renewable energy project development and devise mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with various departments, including procurement, engineering, and finance, to effectively manage and mitigate legal risks.
• Establish processes for contract termination and dispute resolution to minimize legal exposure.

1. Stakeholder Management:

• Develop strong working relationships with external contractors, legal counsel, and project managers to ensure the smooth negotiation and execution of contracts.
• Communicate effectively with senior management and other stakeholders, providing clear insights into legal and contractual matters.

• Lead and mentor a team of contract professionals, ensuring they maintain a high level of competence and professional growth.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate for the AGM/DGM – Legal Contracts position should have a strong legal background, particularly in contract management for renewable energy or infrastructure projects. Key qualifications include:

• Master’s Degree in Legal Studies (preferably with a focus on contract law or corporate law).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies.
