About APCAM
Asia Pacific Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (APCAM) is an International ADR Center formed jointly by multiple centers across various countries in the Asia-Pacific Region. APCAM comprises of 10 International institutes from different countries including Indian Institute of Arbitration & Mediation (IIAM), India, Malaysian International Mediation Centre (MIMC), Malaysia; Indonesian Mediation Center (PMN), Indonesia; Hong Kong International Mediation Centre (HKIMC), Hong Kong; Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators (HKIArb), Hong Kong; Thailand Arbitration Centre (THAC), Thailand; Australasian Dispute Resolution Centre (ADRC), Australia; Nepal International ADR Center (NIAC), Nepal; Korea International Mediation Centre (KIMC), Republic of Korea and Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), Malaysia.
About The Mediation Competition, 2024
The AIMMC (APCAM International Metaverse Mediation Competition) offers participants a unique opportunity to engage in simulated mediation sessions within a virtual environment. Through this educational event, participants develop their mediation skills, including mediation skills, persuasive advocacy, and strategic thinking. The competition fosters cultural exchange and understanding among participants from diverse backgrounds, promoting appreciation for cultural diversity and respect in mediation practice. Overall, the AIMMC competition serves as a platform for experiential learning, skill development, and intercultural dialogue in the field of mediation.
Participation Eligibility.
The Competition is open to all students, enrolled bona-fide on a regular basis in an Undergraduate law course or a Postgraduate course or its equivalent conducted by any recognized institution. A recognized institution shall be entitled to send only one team to the competition. In a system where a university has constituent colleges, each college can register individually by sending a team each.
Registration
a) Preferably each institution should register itself, through its designated moot court
society/ADR society. The registration for the Competition shall be done by filling this – Registration Form no later than 11:59 PM (Indian Time) on 25th July, 2024
b)While filling the registration form, the teams have to choose a primary contact person.
All communications concerning the Competition will be sent by e-mail to the nominated
contact person. It is that person’s responsibility to convey all relevant information and
distribute all relevant material to the other team members.
c) The nominated contact person is also confirming in completing the registration form
that they have the authority of the university or other higher educational institution to register
a team on behalf of the university or institution.
d) The teams are strongly encouraged to complete the registration form at the earliest
possible as teams will be taken on a first come basis.
e) The registration fee for all overseas teams is USD 75. For Indian teams, a registration
fee of INR 4,500 shall be charged. The payment shall be made before last day of registration
to the below account :
