About the ADR Magazine Article Writing Competition 2025

The competition, organized by the GNLU ADR Magazine in collaboration with CAM, aims to foster academic discourse in ADR while encouraging critical analysis and innovation in dispute resolution practices. It offers a platform for law students to showcase their research and writing skills on contemporary ADR issues.

The top five articles will be featured in Volume V Issue II of the ADR Magazine. Winners will also receive cash prizes and internship opportunities with CAM.

Participants can choose from the following themes:

  1. Counterclaims in Investment Arbitration: Challenges and Implications
  2. Transforming India into a Global Arbitration Hub: Opportunities and Challenges
  3. Patent Illegality and its Alignment with Global Standards
  4. Arbitration and Conciliation Act’s Applicability to Investor-State Dispute Settlement Mechanisms
  5. Arbitrability Issues: Live and Dead Claims in Arbitration
  6. Arbitration under Micro and Small Enterprise Facilitation Council: Benefits and Challenges
  7. Enforcement of Arbitral Awards in India: Legal Hurdles and Emerging Challenges

Important Dates

  • Registration Opens: 1st December 2024
  • Registration Closes: 30th December 2024
  • Submission of Articles Begins: 30th December 2024
  • Submission Deadline: 5th January 2025
  • Declaration of Results: Last week of March 2025

Submission Guidelines

  1. Eligibility:
    • Open to 3rd, 4th, and 5th-year law students in five-year integrated LL.B. programs.
    • Single authorship only.
  2. Word Limit: 2,000–2,500 words (excluding footnotes).
  3. Citation Style: OSCOLA (4th ed., 2012); hyperlinks are not allowed.
  4. Formatting:
    • Text: Garamond, 12-point font, 1.5 line spacing.
    • Footnotes: Garamond, 10-point font, single spacing.
  5. Originality: Submissions must be original and not published elsewhere. Zero tolerance for plagiarism.
  6. Mode of Submission: Only via the Google Form sent to registered participants.

Registration Process

  1. Complete the registration form at this link.
  2. Pay the non-refundable registration fee of ₹200.
  3. Upload proof of payment in the registration form.
  4. Registered participants will receive a unique registration number and a manuscript submission link.

Awards and Perks

  • Winner: ₹10,000 + Internship at CAM
  • 2nd Prize: ₹7,000 + Internship at CAM
  • 3rd Prize: ₹5,000 + Internship at CAM
  • 4th & 5th Prize: ₹3,000 each
  • Top 5 submissions will be published in the ADR Magazine.

Internships are available for 4th and 5th-year students only, subject to CAM’s discretion.
