About the Event

The Dignity Law: Practice and Promise Conference is the inaugural edition of a scholarly event curated to engage with the evolving jurisprudence of human dignity. This conference seeks to explore dignity not just as an aspirational or rhetorical tool but as a substantive constitutional norm and a critical principle shaping Indian legal practice, judicial reasoning, pedagogy, and public life.

Scholars, legal professionals, researchers, and students are invited to critically engage with the transformative potential of dignity as a doctrinal anchor and ethical ideal.

Format and Structure

The conference will feature multiple academic presentation sessions based on selected abstracts. The participants will present their papers before a panel comprising faculty members, practitioners, and fellow researchers. Each session will include Q&A and feedback segments.

  • Doctrinal principle in judicial reasoning
  • Guiding ethic in legal pedagogy and practice
  • Framework for evaluating state action
  • Normative tool for rights-claiming in marginalized communities

Submissions from allied disciplines are welcome.
