Submission Guidelines

  • Categories of Submissions: The blog welcomes original and unpublished works including:

  • Word Limit: Submissions should be 1500 words, exclusive of endnotes (if any). Longer posts may be accepted at the discretion of the editors and may be published in parts.
  • Co-Authorship: Co-authorship is allowed for up to two authors.
  • References: All references should be provided in the form of hyperlinks. In case a hyperlink is unavailable, endnotes are recommended. The blog does not accept speaking footnotes or footnotes.
  • Formatting Guidelines:
  • Title: Garamond, font size 14, bold, all caps.
  • Main body: Garamond, font size 12, 1.5 line spacing.
  • Paragraphs should be separated by a single line space.
  • Submissions must be in Word format (‘.doc’ or ‘.docx’).
  • Anonymity: Submissions should not contain any personal identification details to facilitate a double-blind review process.
  • Originality: All submissions must be original and unpublished. Plagiarized work will be disqualified.

Review Process

The NLUJ Law Review Blog follows a comprehensive double-blind peer review process. The review process typically takes up to 15 days, though the editors aim to provide feedback within a week. Authors will receive decisions to accept or reject the manuscript directly, and any necessary revisions will be communicated promptly.

Once selected, authors are expected to revise the manuscript based on editorial suggestions and cooperate in the final editing process.

Editorial Policy

  • Submissions must be unpublished and must not be under consideration for publication on any other platform during the review process.

  • Authors may not request decisions based on abstracts or outlines.
  • Upon final acceptance, the copyright of the manuscript will vest in the NLUJ Law Review Blog, though moral rights remain with the authors.
