About the University

National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) is a premier legal education institution based in Guwahati, Assam. Established in 2009 under an Act passed by the State Legislature, NLUJAA aims to foster legal research and academic excellence in North-East India and beyond.

About the Centre for Disability Studies and Health Laws (CDSHL)

The Centre for Disability Studies and Health Laws (CDSHL) at NLUJAA is a trailblazing initiative focused on disability rights and inclusive legal frameworks. Guided by the ethos of “Nothing About Us Without Us,” the Centre brings together diverse stakeholders—academicians, practitioners, researchers, NGOs, and policymakers—to champion rights-based approaches in disability and health law. As the sole centre of its kind in the North-East, CDSHL addresses critical regional challenges like poor healthcare access, limited infrastructure, and low awareness, aligning its efforts with the UNCRPD and national legislation.

About the Blog

The CDSHL Blog is a student-run platform managed by the Student Editorial Board. It serves as a space for students, legal professionals, researchers, and academics to contribute insightful articles on evolving themes around disability and health laws.
