About the University/Organization
This edited volume is an initiative of faculty from Amity University, Bengaluru, with editors affiliated to the Amity Law School and the Amity School of Fashion Design & Technology. The book is being developed as an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed publication, aimed at exploring the rich and complex relationships between digital fashion, algorithmic systems, and identity politics.
The project seeks to foreground diverse academic voices across legal studies, fashion technology, media theory, cultural studies, and computer science. Contributing to this volume presents an opportunity to be part of a critical scholarly conversation around AI-driven digital aesthetics, algorithmic bias, and global fashion capitalism.
About the Event
Titled Algorithmic Aesthetics: Fashion, Identity and AI in the Global Digital Economy, this forthcoming book invites original chapters for an interdisciplinary volume that explores how digital fashion trends are curated, shaped, and experienced through algorithmic systems, AI personalization, e-commerce platforms, and surveillance capitalism.
The book interrogates how digital platforms affect identity formation, aesthetics, and inclusivity in global fashion. It especially welcomes contributions that examine marginalized perspectives, such as caste-gender exclusion in algorithmic platforms, indigenous design invisibility, and digital labour involved in fashion-tech ecosystems.
Contributors are encouraged to approach fashion as data, AI as taste-maker, and algorithms as arbiters of aesthetics, identity, and aspiration in the global digital marketplace.
