NLUJ Call for Papers: 2nd IndusLaw Corporate Law Review Summit 2024 – Deadline by Aug 15, 2024

The prestigious National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ) is thrilled to announce the 2nd edition of the NLUJ-IndusLaw Corporate Law Review Paper Summit, set to take place on the 5th and 6th of October, 2024. This summit is organized in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), SCC OnLine, and SCC Times, and promises to be a landmark event in the realm of corporate and commercial law research and discussion.

About the Event

The summit aims to foster research and knowledge dissemination on emerging trends in corporate and commercial laws in India. By providing a platform for legal scholars, practitioners, and students, the event encourages the sharing of expertise, ideas, and research findings. Participants will have the opportunity to present their papers and engage in intellectual discussions with some of the most prominent figures in the field.

Key highlights of the summit include:

• Paper Presentations: Participants will present their research on contemporary issues in corporate and commercial laws. This segment aims to promote high academic standards and provide a space for scholarly exchange.
• Panel Discussions: A panel of legal luminaries will discuss pressing topics in corporate and commercial laws, offering invaluable insights and fostering a rich learning environment for attendees.

The summit welcomes submissions on a wide range of topics related to corporate and commercial laws. While the list of sub-themes is suggestive and non-exhaustive, authors are encouraged to explore various contemporary and relevant issues. Some indicative sub-themes include:

Submission Categories

Participants can submit their manuscripts in the following categories:

• Long Articles: 4000 to 7000 words
• Short Articles: 2000 to 4000 words
• Legislative Comments: 2000 to 4000 words
• Case Comments: 2000 to 4000 words

Note: Word limits are exclusive of the abstract and footnotes.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions must adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Title and Abstract: The title must succinctly encapsulate the topic. An abstract of 250-300 words should briefly describe the idea, structure, and conclusions of the submission.
2. Originality: Submissions should be original works of the authors and meet high academic standards. A similarity score of up to 10% is acceptable.
3. Co-authorship: Permissible up to a maximum of two authors.
4. Exclusive Submission: Manuscripts should not be previously published or submitted elsewhere.
5. Formatting:
   • Title and subtitles in Garamond font, size 12, bold, small caps, centrally aligned.
   • Main body in Garamond font, size 12, with 1.15 line spacing, justified alignment.
   • Footnotes in Garamond font, size 10, single spacing, justified alignment, following Bluebook 20th Edition guidelines.

• Release of Themes & Call for Papers: August 18, 2024
• Deadline for Submission of Papers: August 15, 2024
• Intimation of Shortlisted Papers: September 14, 2024
• Inaugural Ceremony & Panel Discussion: October 5, 2024
• Paper Presentation & Award Ceremony: October 6, 2024

Awards and Recognition

• Winner(s): Cash prize of INR 25,000, internship opportunities with IndusLaw and SCC OnLine, and a certificate of merit.
• First Runner(s)-up: Cash prize of INR 15,000, internship with IndusLaw, and a certificate of merit.
• Second Runner(s)-up: Cash prize of INR 10,000 and a certificate of merit.
• Top Six Entries: Publication in the upcoming volume of the Journal on Corporate Law & Governance (Vol. VII, Issue 2).
• Top 15 Entries: Certificate of merit from the organizers.
• All Entries: Certificate of participation.

Eligibility and Submission Process

Authors must be pursuing education from a recognized university in India for the academic year 2024-2025 or be graduates from any recognized university. Manuscripts should be emailed to journal.governance@gmail.com along with personal details, an originality statement, and a copyright statement.
