This Call for Papers is a scholarly initiative launched by Kluwer Arbitration in collaboration with guest editors Sophie Nappert, Benjamin Malek, and Fernanda Carvalho Dias de Oliveira Silva. The 2025 edition aims to explore the interplay between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and International Arbitration, offering a unique academic opportunity for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to reflect on how AI is reshaping dispute resolution.

Format and Structure

The editorial team is accepting original paper proposals of 400 words via email. Upon selection, contributors will be invited to submit full-length papers ranging between 5,000–10,000 words.

Topics of Interest Include (but are not limited to):

  • AI’s impact on arbitration practice and procedure
  • Algorithmic bias, transparency, and accountability in dispute resolution
  • Cybersecurity, data privacy, and handling sensitive information in AI-assisted proceedings
  • Ethical considerations and regulatory frameworks for AI in arbitration
  • Cross-disciplinary insights integrating law, technology, and policy
  • Speculative or real case studies on AI in arbitration contexts
  • Future scenarios and operational models in automated dispute resolution

Evaluation will focus on originality, clarity, depth of analysis, and relevance to the core themes. Selected papers will undergo editorial review and will be published under the Kluwer Arbitration banner.
