About the University/Organization

University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh was established in 2004–05 as a Constituent Department of Panjab University. It offers five-year integrated undergraduate programs—B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.), B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), and two postgraduate LLM programs. UILS aims to foster legal expertise and develop analytical abilities in students to address interdisciplinary and complex legal issues.


About the Event

The UILS Student Law Review (USLR) is a peer-reviewed, student-run bi-annual journal seeking to publish scholarly work on contemporary legal issues. This is the inaugural edition, and the Editorial Board invites submissions that present well-reasoned perspectives contributing to legal academia. Authors will receive feedback to enhance their work and promote a culture of academic legal writing.

      Word limits exclude footnotes and may be relaxed based on quality.
  • Abstract: Max 250 words + 5 keywords (mandatory)
  • Co-authorship: Allowed (up to 2 authors)
  • Originality: Max 15% plagiarism allowed
  • Exclusivity: Only unpublished and unsubmitted works will be considered
  • Submission Format:
    • Font: Times New Roman, Size 12 (Text), 10 (Footnotes)
    • Spacing: 1.5 (Text), Single (Footnotes)
    • Citation: Indian Law Institute (ILI) format
  • Review Timeline: 8–12 weeks, includes editorial and peer-review
  • Fee: No publication or processing charges

Location

This is an online publication. Submissions and correspondence will be conducted digitally.

  • Submissions must be anonymized (no author info in manuscript).
  • Authors must attach the bona-fide certificate/copyright form.
  • Submissions violating guidelines or missing documentation will be rejected.
