About the Centre for Research in International Law (CRIL)

The Centre for Research in International Law (CRIL) is a student-run initiative at NLIU, aimed at promoting knowledge and awareness of international law. The NLIU-CRIL Journal of International Law & Policy is an annual, double-blind peer-reviewed journal covering a wide array of topics within international law. Themes and Categories for Submission

Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished work within the following categories:

  1. Long Articles: 5000 – 8000 words
  2. Short Articles: 3000 – 5000 words
  3. Case Notes/Studies: 1500 – 3000 words
  4. Book Reviews: 1000 – 2000 words

Themes may include, but are not limited to:

  • Public International Law
  • Human Rights Law
  • Private International Law
  • International Trade and Commercial Law
  • International Criminal Law
  • International Investment Law

Note: Co-authorship is permitted for up to two authors.

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstract: Each submission should include a 250-300 word abstract summarizing the content.
  • Formatting:
    • Title: Times New Roman, Bold, 16 pt, 1.5 spacing, center alignment.
    • Body: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 spacing, justified alignment, with 1-inch margins.
    • Footnotes: Times New Roman, 10 pt, 1.0 spacing, following OSCOLA (4th edition).
  • Technical Review Process: Manuscripts will undergo multiple review stages, including a Turnitin plagiarism check, content reviews, and peer review.
