About Hamdard Institute of Legal Studies & Research (HILSR)
The Hamdard Institute of Legal Studies & Research (HILSR), established in 2018 under the Jamia Hamdard University, is dedicated to advancing legal scholarship with a focus on social justice and service. The institute provides a five-year B.A. LL.B. program and postgraduate degrees, including LL.M. specializations and a Ph.D. program in law. Known for its modern facilities and innovative pedagogy, HILSR supports a variety of academic and extracurricular activities to foster student growth. Jamia Hamdard itself, founded in 1989, is recognized for its contributions to Islamic culture, Unani medicine, and higher education in India.

About the HILSR Law Review
The HILSR Law Review (HILSR L. Rev.) is an annual, peer-reviewed e-journal launched by HILSR with the vision of becoming a leading platform for legal scholarship. This journal invites legal scholars, practitioners, and students to publish research, contribute to intellectual discourse, and shape a more informed legal community. Volume I aims to bring together diverse perspectives in areas of legal thought, policy analysis, and case commentaries.

- Review Feedback: February 21, 2025
- Revised Article Submission: March 14, 2025
- Publication Date: June 2025 (Tentative)
Submission Categories and Guidelines
Authors may submit their research under the following categories:
- Long Article: 6000-8000 words, in-depth analysis of issues across jurisdictions.
- Short Article: 4000-6000 words, focused examination of contemporary legal issues.
- Commentary: 1500-3000 words, critiques on judicial pronouncements or legislative developments.
- Book Review: 1500 words, critical analysis of books related to trade law and allied fields.
Formatting Requirements:
- Title: Times New Roman, 16pt, Bold, Centered
- Main Text: Times New Roman, 12pt, Justified, 1.5 spacing
- Footnotes: Indian Law Institute (ILI) style
Submissions must include a 200-word abstract and a minimum of three keywords. Email submissions to hilsr.lawreview@jamiahamdard.ac.in with a cover letter detailing the author’s name, affiliation, and contact information.
