About the International Journal on Consumer Law and Practice (IJCLP)

The International Journal on Consumer Law and Practice (IJCLP) (ISSN 2347-2731) is an open-access, blind-peer-reviewed law journal published annually by the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) under the aegis of the Chair on Consumer Law and Practice (CLAP) since 2013. The journal is indexed in SCOPUS, HeinOnline, SCC OnLine, and the UGC CARE List.

Since its inception, IJCLP has provided a prestigious platform for legal scholars, academicians, practitioners, and students to contribute to the field of consumer protection laws and policy. Previous contributors include legal luminaries such as Hon. Justice AK Sikri, HC Mult Norbert Reich, Cristina Poncibò, and several distinguished professors from reputed global institutions.


Themes for Submission

Submissions must align with contemporary issues in consumer law and practice. Suggested themes include, but are not limited to:

  • Empowering Consumers through Clean Energy Transitions
  • Protecting Consumers in Food Crises Now and in the Future
  • Consumer Journeys in Digital Finance with Mobile Money
  • Consumer Voices in the G20
  • Consumer Protection Combating Greenwashing
  • Electronic Enforcement of Consumer Law
  • Durability and Right to Repair: A Consumer Right
  • Digital Future: Building Trusted E-Commerce & Generative AI

Submission Guidelines

  • Word Limit:
  • Articles (including abstract): 6,000-8,000 words (inclusive of footnotes)
  • Case Comment, Legislative Briefs: 2,500-3,000 words (inclusive of footnotes)
  • Book Review: 2,000 words (inclusive of footnotes) [Authors submitting book reviews must send a hard/soft copy of the book along with a consent letter from the publisher or author.]
  • Format:
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point size, 1.5 spacing (Main text)
  • Font: Times New Roman, 10-point size, single spacing (Footnotes)
  • Citation Style: OSCOLA (4th Edition)

How to Submit?

Only electronic submissions are accepted. Authors must submit their manuscripts through the Submission Form along with a covering letter and resume by March 31, 2025.
