NFSU invites students, researchers, and legal professionals to contribute to the NFSU Journal of Law and Artificial Intelligence. Submissions for Volume IV should focus on contemporary challenges, ethical considerations, and the transformative potential of AI in the legal landscape. Contributors are encouraged to explore topics that reflect emerging issues in law and AI, driving discussion around the development of laws that can effectively govern AI technologies.

Authors may choose to explore any of the following suggested sub-themes. However, contributions are not limited to these topics:

1. AI-Driven Legal Research and Analytics
   • Examining how AI tools enhance research efficiency and accuracy, enabling faster access to legal precedents, data analysis, and case predictions.
2. Automated Decision-Making in the Judiciary
   • Assessing the advantages and risks of automated decision-making, including issues of due process, transparency, and fairness in AI-supported legal judgments.
3. AI and Intellectual Property Law
   • Discussing challenges of authorship, ownership, and copyright when AI systems generate creative content, and exploring regulatory approaches for AI-generated works.
4. Algorithmic Bias and Discrimination in AI-Assisted Legal Processes
   • Analyzing the risks of bias within AI algorithms used in the legal system, with a focus on ensuring fairness and equality in automated legal decisions.
5. AI-Powered Smart Contracts and Legal Implications

Categories of Submission

NFSU welcomes the following types of submissions:

1. Articles (6,000–8,000 words)
   • Detailed research articles providing in-depth analysis, novel perspectives, and recommendations on specific topics related to AI and law.
2. Notes and Comments (3,000–4,000 words)
   • Shorter pieces that provide concise analysis or commentary on recent legal developments, cases, or regulatory updates relevant to AI.
3. Case Studies (3,000–5,000 words)
   • Analyses of case law involving AI technologies, exploring how courts interpret AI-related legal issues and the potential future impact on jurisprudence.
4. Book Reviews (1,500–2,500 words)
   • Analytical reviews of recent books on AI, law, and ethics, highlighting significant arguments and providing critique or support for the author’s stance.

Submission Guidelines

• Manuscript Format: All manuscripts must be in MS Word format.
• Word Count:
  • Articles: 6,000–8,000 words (excluding footnotes)
  • Notes/Comments: 3,000–4,000 words
  • Book Reviews: 1,500–2,500 words
• Abstract: Submissions must include an abstract of 200–250 words summarizing the key points of the paper.
• Authorship: Submissions can have up to two authors, with primary and corresponding author details clearly indicated.
• Reference Style: Bluebook (21st Edition)
• Formatting:
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt for body, 10 pt for footnotes.
  • Spacing: 1.5 for the main text, 1.0 for footnotes.
