The Environmental Law and Practice Review (ELPR) is a flagship publication of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, dedicated to advancing scholarship in Environmental Law and Policy. ELPR invites academicians, legal practitioners, students, and researchers to contribute original works for Volume X (2025). The journal encourages innovative scholarship addressing pressing environmental challenges while ensuring adherence to the highest academic standards.

Format/Structure

Submissions are welcome in the following categories:

- Advertisement -
  1. Article
  • In-depth studies of up to 10,000 words (inclusive of footnotes).
  1. Essay
  • Focused discussions on contemporary issues, not exceeding 6,000 words.
  1. Case Comment/Legislative Critique & Notes
  • Analysis of judicial decisions or legislative developments, limited to 3,500 words.
  1. Book Review
  • Reviews of books published within the last three years, capped at 3,000 words.

Abstracts of 250–300 words must accompany all submissions.


Themes and Sub-Themes

Potential areas of focus include, but are not limited to:

  • Comparative Approaches in International Environmental Law
  • Environmental Judicial Review Systems and Constitutionalism
  • Climate Change Litigation and its Future
  • Green Financing and Disclosure Standards
  • Intellectual Property Rights in the Era of Climate Change
  • Human Rights and Indigenous Community Rights in Environmental Contexts

Submission Guidelines

  • Format: Times New Roman, font size 12 for main text, size 10 for footnotes, with 1.5 line spacing.
  • Citation Style: OSCOLA (speaking footnotes discouraged).
  • Originality: Submissions must be unpublished and free from plagiarism.
  • Biographical Details: A separate document with the author’s name, affiliation, and contact details must be attached. The manuscript should not contain author-identifying information to ensure anonymity.

Submissions should be sent to elpr@nalsar.ac.in with the subject line: “Submission for ELPR Volume X.”


Location

The journal is based at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, with the publication available digitally and in print.


Additional Details

Accepted submissions will contribute to critical discussions in Environmental Law, offering innovative perspectives to policymakers, scholars, and practitioners. Joint authorship is permitted with no cap on the number of authors.
