The National Law Institute University (NLIU) in Bhopal, established in 1997, is one of India’s leading law schools, recognized for its rigorous academic standards and contributions to legal research. As one of the first three law universities established under the National Law University system, NLIU has built a reputation for excellence, consistently rated as one of India’s top law institutions. NLIU offers a diverse range of academic programs and serves as a center for innovative legal research.
The Centre for Parliamentary Studies (CPS) at NLIU aims to promote advanced learning and research in constitutional law, public policy, and legislative drafting. Through research projects, publications, and events, CPS fosters academic discourse on contemporary issues in public policy and the legal system. By facilitating research on important legislative issues, CPS contributes to the holistic development of India’s legal framework.
The NLIU-CPS Journal for Legislative Drafting and Parliamentary Research (JLDPR) is an annual, peer-reviewed journal published by CPS. It encourages scholarly work in constitutional law, administrative law, and public policy. The journal serves as a platform for students, academics, and professionals to engage with issues surrounding legislative drafting, parliamentary research, and related areas of public law.
The inaugural edition featured a foreword by Justice Sanjay Karol, Judge of the Supreme Court of India, and the second edition included a commencement note by Padma Shri Dr. T.K. Viswanathan.
JLDPR Volume III invites submissions on contemporary issues in constitutional law, legislative drafting, parliamentary research, and public policy. The journal encourages innovative, analytical, and unpublished contributions that address significant legal and policy issues in these areas.
