The Centre for Labour Laws (CLL) at the National Law Institute University (NLIU) was established in 2019 to promote labor rights and awareness through comprehensive research, training, and advocacy. The center conducts studies on policy, legal, and regulatory issues surrounding labor and employment laws in India. Through its activities, the CLL seeks to foster a fair and equitable environment for workers across the country.
The NLIU Journal for Labour and Employment Laws (NLIU-JLEL) is an annual, peer-reviewed publication aimed at fostering debate and discourse on labor and employment laws. The journal covers a wide range of topics pertinent to the evolving dynamics of workplace regulations and human resources, contributing to a fair and equitable legal regime.
Theme: The Intersection of Gig Work and Social Security: Challenges and Solutions in New Labour Codes
As gig work continues to grow, this theme addresses the challenges gig workers face, especially regarding access to social security, healthcare, and other protections under India’s new labor codes. Submissions may cover (but are not limited to) the following areas:
