About the Organisation

The Centre for Business and Commercial Laws (CBCL) is a flagship “Centre for Excellence” at the National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal. Established in 2008, CBCL is dedicated to cultivating a culture of commercial awareness and excellence in the legal fraternity. It publishes the NLIU Journal of Business Laws, a peer-reviewed periodical featuring high-quality articles, case comments, legislative reviews, and book reviews focused on business and commercial laws.

About the Event

The NLIU Journal of Business Laws Vol. VI, 2024, is now accepting submissions. This flagship journal is devoted exclusively to corporate and commercial laws and invites contributions that explore contemporary legal issues in these fields.

Themes and Topics

The journal covers a broad range of business laws, including:

• Taxation Law: Developments in tax implications of cross-border mergers.
• Securities and Capital Markets Law: SEBI’s new rules on futures and options trading.
• Contract Law: Evidentiary requirements for claiming loss of profits.
• Banking and Finance Law: Due process in RBI enforcement actions.
• Insolvency and Bankruptcy: Cross-border insolvency frameworks and sustainable finance.

Submissions addressing innovative and contemporary topics within these and related fields are encouraged.

• Long Articles: 4,000–7,000 words
• Case Comments: 2,000–4,000 words
• Legislative Comments: 2,000–4,000 words
• Book Reviews: 1,000–3,000 words

Word limits exclude footnotes. The Editorial Board may allow a 10% relaxation at its discretion.

Submission Guidelines

1. Submissions must be original, unpublished, and free of plagiarism or AI-generated content.
2. Co-authorship is limited to two authors per submission.
3. Citations should conform to the Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA, 4th ed.).
4. Submissions must include an abstract of 250–300 words.
