About the Event:

The NLUD Journal on ‘LABOUR,’ managed by CLLRA, invites submissions for its inaugural edition themed Sociology of Labour. This academic journal aims to foster intellectual dialogue on labour issues by engaging scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to critically examine the dynamics of labour in both national and international contexts.

Sub-Themes:

The journal welcomes articles and papers on topics including but not limited to:

• Nature of work, work relationships, and occupational styles.
• Labour and development discourse.
• Sectors within the informal/formal economy and their political economy.
• Feminist and intersectional analyses of labour, migration, and development.
• Marginalised labour categories and historical injustices.
• Structure of labour law and its influence on labouring lives.
• Urban development and labour dynamics.
• New industries and debates on just transitions.

  • Paper Submission Begins: 20th July 2024
  • Submission Deadline: 31st December 2024
  • Acceptance Notification: 15th February 2025
  • Final Confirmation: 30th April 2025
  • Publication Date: 15th July 2025
• Mode: Online submissions through the submission portal or email.
• Formatting Guidelines:
  • All submissions must include an abstract (300 words max) and 5 keywords.
  • Manuscripts should use the APA citation style and include footnotes.
  • Word limits:
    • Special Articles: 8,000–10,000 words
    • Short Articles: 5,000–8,000 words
    • Insights/Perspectives: 3,500–4,500 words
    • Book Reviews/Case Notes: 2,500–3,000 words
    • Field Notes/Pictorial Commentaries: 1–2 pages
• Eligibility:
  Undergraduate/postgraduate students are not eligible to submit.
• Location: This journal is organized and managed online, making submissions accessible globally.
