About the Centre for Research in Human Rights and Subaltern Studies (CHRSS)
The Centre for Research in Human Rights and Subaltern Studies (CHRSS) at NUSRL is dedicated to human rights research, policy analysis, and legal advocacy. It promotes academic discourse on constitutional rights, access to justice, and the protection of vulnerable groups in national and international contexts.
About the NUSRL Journal of Human Rights
The NUSRL Journal of Human Rights is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary journal that provides a platform for academicians, researchers, legal practitioners, and policymakers to engage in discussions on emerging human rights challenges.
Following the success of its previous two volumes, CHRSS now invites original research contributions for Volume III from legal scholars, students, and professionals in the field.
Categories of Submissions

All submissions must include an abstract (maximum 250 words) with 3-5 keywords.

Submissions should focus on human rights issues and legal developments, including but not limited to:
- International Human Rights Law and Domestic Implementation
- Constitutional and Legislative Protections for Human Rights
- Human Rights in the Digital Age: Privacy, AI, and Cybersecurity
- Criminal Justice Reforms and Human Rights Implications
- Impact of Global Conflicts on Human Rights
- Migration, Refugee Rights, and Humanitarian Law
- Subaltern Perspectives: Human Rights of Indigenous and Marginalized Communities
- Gender Justice and Women’s Rights in the 21st Century
- Mob Lynching, Hate Crimes, and Rule of Law Violations
- The Right to Health and Socio-Economic Rights in a Post-Pandemic World
Authors may also propose original topics that contribute to contemporary human rights discourse.
Submission Guidelines
- All submissions must be in English and adhere to the following formatting requirements:
- Font: Times New Roman
- Font Size: 12 (main text), 10 (footnotes)
- Line Spacing: 1.5 (main text), 1.0 (footnotes)
- Citations must follow the Bluebook (21st Edition) Citation Style.
- Submissions must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc/.docx) (PDFs will not be accepted).
- Each submission must include a declaration of originality, confirming that the work is unpublished and free of plagiarism.
- All manuscripts must be submitted through the official Google Form (email submissions will not be accepted).
