About Aliah University

Aliah University, a State University under the Department of Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education, Government of West Bengal, was established through the Aliah University Act (Act XXVII of 2007) passed by the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. The Act came into force on April 5, 2008. The university’s origins trace back to its parent institution, known variously as Calcutta Mohammedan College, Calcutta Madrasah, or Aliah Madrasah, founded by British Governor-General Warren Hastings in 1780.

About the Department of Law

The Department of Law at Aliah University commenced in 2013, aiming to provide higher legal education and overall grooming for students. The department offers a Master of Law (LL.M.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) courses. With 40 seats available in the LL.M. program, the department emphasizes academic excellence, offering an environment conducive to educational and research pursuits.

Overview: National-Level Seminar

The Department of Law, Aliah University, Kolkata, is organizing a National-Level Seminar focusing on the evolution, current trends, and issues related to Constitutional rights. The seminar will explore recent significant developments in the Constitution of India and provide practical examples to enhance attendees’ understanding of specific constitutional aspects. This is a Call for Papers inviting all interested parties to submit their research.

This Call for Papers invites contributions from all eligible participants who are interested in exploring these themes.

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstract: 250-300 words
  • Full Paper: 3000-5000 words
  • Font: Times New Roman, Size 12, 1.5 Spacing
  • File Type: MS Word
