About the Conference

The PPEL in the Global South Conference is an annual academic gathering designed to bring together scholars working in Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law (PPEL). The conference particularly aims to facilitate interaction between scholars from South Asia, the Global South, and international research communities, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and perspectives on contemporary issues in these disciplines.

The inaugural conference will be hosted by NLSIU, Bengaluru, from December 11-14, 2025, in collaboration with:

  • The University of Hong Kong
  • The International Network for Economic Method

Call for Papers

Submissions are invited from scholars engaged in Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and/or Law, with a focus on normative issues. Papers that intersect multiple disciplines are especially encouraged.

🔹 Who can submit?

  • Academics, researchers, and scholars in Philosophy, Politics, Economics, or Law.
  • Early-career scholars and Ph.D. candidates from South Asia are highly encouraged to apply.

🔹 Submission Guidelines:

  • Abstracts should be no more than 500 words.
  • Abstracts must clearly outline the research question, methodology, and key arguments.
  • Deadline: February 28, 2025
