About the University/Organization

Savitribai Phule Pune University, through its Department of Law, is organizing a prestigious two-day national seminar to commemorate 75 years of the Constitution of India. The University, a pioneer in interdisciplinary legal education, is known for promoting impactful research on constitutional development, social justice, and legal policy. The seminar aims to examine the evolution and challenges of justice in India’s democratic journey and foster a nationwide dialogue among scholars, practitioners, and policy influencers.


About the Event

Titled “75 Years of the Constitution of India: Realising the Promise of Justice”, the national seminar invites scholars, students, and professionals to reflect critically on the progress, gaps, and future of social, economic, and political justice under the Indian Constitution.

Key topics will span judicial interpretations, jurisprudential theories, gender and economic justice, and the interplay between law, technology, and society. The seminar aims to bring together over 300 participants including judges, senior advocates, legal scholars, and students.

Invited Speakers: Hon’ble Chief Justice of India Justice Bhushan R. Gavai, Hon’ble Justice Dr. D.Y. Chandrachud (Former CJI), and other eminent jurists.

Participants are invited to submit original and unpublished research papers on the seminar theme or any of the suggested sub-themes.
Selected papers will be presented in-person during the seminar and considered for publication in a peer-reviewed ISBN book.
