About Woxsen University and the Woxsen Law Review
Woxsen University, based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, is an esteemed institution known for fostering academic excellence and cutting-edge research. The School of Law at Woxsen University is committed to encouraging in-depth legal scholarship and interdisciplinary discourse. As part of this mission, the school publishes the Woxsen Law Review (WLR), an annual academic journal that serves as a valuable platform for the legal community, including academics, practitioners, judges, researchers, and students. WLR provides an open forum to examine and engage with critical legal and policy issues on both national and international stages. About the Call for Papers
The Woxsen Law Review is inviting submissions for its upcoming issue, Volume II, slated for publication in 2025. This issue welcomes a wide range of contributions, including research papers, articles, case comments, notes, and book reviews. The thematic scope is broad, allowing for submissions on contemporary legal issues in fields such as constitutional law, corporate law, intellectual property rights, public international law, ADR, sports law, family law, legal theory, and cyber law. Although the themes listed are representative, the journal is open to other contemporary issues, encouraging innovative and critical perspectives that contribute to the evolution of legal thought.
Submission Categories and Word Limits
The journal accepts contributions across various categories, with specific word limits for each:
- Long Articles: 6,000 to 8,000 words – This category is for in-depth research that provides substantial insights and contributions to legal scholarship.
- Short Articles: 3,000 to 6,000 words – Shorter pieces that discuss focused aspects of a topic or present new ideas with conciseness.
- Case Comments and Notes: 1,800 to 3,000 words – Analyses of recent cases, legislative changes, or issues in current legal practice.
- Book Reviews: 1,500 to 2,500 words – Reviews of recent legal publications that highlight their significance and relevance to contemporary legal discussions.
Note: Word counts exclude footnotes.

Submission Guidelines
- Submissions must be in Word format and sent via email to LawReview@woxsen.edu.in.
- The submission must not contain any identifying information (author’s name, affiliation) within the document itself. These details should instead be provided in a separate cover letter.
- Each submission, apart from book reviews, should include an abstract of no more than 200 words and five relevant keywords.
The cover letter should contain:
- Title of the Submission
- Name of the Author(s)
- Designation
- Institutional Affiliation
- Contact Information
- Address for Correspondence
- Co-authorship: Up to two authors are permitted per submission.
Formatting and Citation Requirements
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12 for main text and size 10 for footnotes.
- Line Spacing: 1.5 for the main text, 1.0 for footnotes.
- Citation Style: Submissions should adhere to OSCOLA (4th edition) citation style, ensuring consistency and scholarly rigor.
Publication Policy and Originality
WLR upholds a strict policy for originality, allowing a maximum of 10% plagiarism. Authors are required to submit a declaration of originality along with their manuscripts. By submitting, authors grant WLR exclusive rights to publish and reproduce their work across media platforms. All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process, ensuring that the content meets high academic standards. Additionally, WLR reserves the right to edit or exclude submissions found to be defamatory, unethical, or suggestive of illegal, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate content.
