Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Mumbai, established under the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014, is among the leading National Law Universities in India. With a strong interdisciplinary focus on law and allied disciplines, MNLU Mumbai is committed to fostering research and academic excellence from a Global South perspective.

The Law, Humanities and Social Sciences (LHSS) Collective Blog, housed at MNLU Mumbai, is an initiative aimed at promoting, publishing, and supporting scholarly contributions that engage with the intersections of law, humanities, and social sciences. The platform empowers contributors by helping refine their writing and research skills, and serves as an incubator for original academic ideas.


About the Call for Submissions

The LHSS Blog invites submissions under the thematic focus “Freedom of Speech: The Conundrum of Truth.” This theme aims to critically examine the evolving landscape of free speech in the digital era, the manipulation of information, platform governance, and the legal-philosophical underpinnings of speech freedoms. Contributions may be made in the form of full articles or preliminary ideas, which the editorial board will help develop.

  • Word Count: 1500–2000 words (longer pieces may be published in parts)
  • Title Format: Times New Roman, Size 14, Bold, All Caps, 1.5 line spacing
  • Body Text: Times New Roman, Size 12, 1.5 line spacing
  • Referencing: Hyperlinked references preferred. If unavailable, use Endnotes (Bluebook 20th Edition or APA)
  • File Name: Same as the title of the submission
  • Anonymity: Submission file must not contain author’s name or affiliation
  • Plagiarism: Maximum similarity index allowed is 15%

Submitting Ideas

Authors may send tentative ideas or formal abstracts for review. If accepted, the editorial team will provide detailed feedback and assist in shaping the idea into a full article.
