The International Conclave on Relevance of Justice Dr. Radha Binod Pal’s Dissent in International Law is an academic platform aimed at revisiting the profound influence of Justice Pal’s dissenting opinions in shaping international law. Known for his dissent in the Tokyo Trials after World War II, Justice Pal challenged the principles of Victor’s justice and advocated for impartiality and fairness in international criminal law. His dissent has become a cornerstone in discussions around the evolution of international law, and this conclave will explore the relevance of his thoughts in contemporary legal theory.

This event is part of WBNUJS’s initiative to promote critical discourse around historical and contemporary legal issues, with a special focus on Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL) and the lasting impact of post-colonial critiques of global justice.

Researchers, academicians, and policymakers are invited to submit papers on topics related to the legacy of Justice Dr. Radha Binod Pal and his contributions to international law. Submission Guidelines:
  • Word Limit: 5000-7000 words (excluding footnotes)
  • Citation Style: Bluebook (20th edition)
  • Plagiarism Limit: Less than 10%
  • Format: Times New Roman, Font Size 12, 1.5 Line Spacing
  • Abstract: A 300-word abstract with 3-5 keywords should be included in the paper.

Selected papers will be presented during the conclave and may be published in an ISBN-numbered book by a reputed publisher, making it an excellent opportunity for researchers to gain international recognition.

Registration Details

Participants selected for presenting their papers will be required to register for the conclave. Registration fees vary based on the participant’s designation:

  • Research Scholars: INR 2000 + 18% GST
  • Academicians/Teachers: INR 4000 + 18% GST

The registration fee can be paid via an SBI Challan Link, which will be provided via email upon paper selection. Please note that the registration fee is non-refundable.
