About the University

Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, established by the State Government in 2016, is a leading institution in the field of legal education and research. Under the guidance of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, HPNLU has consistently engaged in national and international academic events, combining traditional legal principles with modern interdisciplinary approaches.

About the Event

The Centre for Criminology and Forensic Science at HPNLU is organizing an International Conference on “Role of Forensic Science in Criminal Investigation: Contemporary Issues and Challenges” on 6 June 2025. The conference aims to examine the evolving role of forensic science in modern criminal investigations, particularly in light of the newly enacted Bharatiya Nyaya Suraksha Samhita, 2023, and its incorporation of forensic procedures. Through research presentations and critical discussions, the event seeks to address ethical dilemmas, evidentiary challenges, digital forensics, and policy implications. Participants will also have the opportunity to get their work published in the HPNLU Journal of Criminology and Forensic Science.

Presentation Format: PowerPoint presentation with Q&A for both online and offline participants. Certificates and publication eligibility are valid for both modes.
