About the University/Organization
National Law University Odisha (NLUO), established in 2009 by Act IV of 2008 of the State of Odisha, is a premier legal education institution located in Cuttack. The university fosters an academic environment focused on excellence in teaching and research. Its Centre for International Trade Law (CITL), founded in 2015, is at the forefront of discourse in international trade and investment law, with several landmark publications and policy initiatives. The upcoming conference marks ten successful years of CITL’s contributions.
This event is organized in collaboration with the WTO Chairs Programme and the Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, both of which are key players in shaping trade and investment policy frameworks nationally and globally.
About the Event
The International Conference on Role of International Trade in Global Energy Transition aims to explore the interface between liberal trade policies and global efforts toward sustainable energy. While economic liberalism promotes production and consumption, its environmental implications necessitate deeper discussion. This conference invites stakeholders—academicians, policymakers, legal practitioners, environmental scientists, and students—to analyze the alignment (or misalignment) between WTO norms and the transition to renewable energy. Participants may present papers on diverse sub-themes, and selected papers will be considered for publication in an edited volume.
