About the Event

NLSIU invites academics and professionals to offer Elective Courses during the First Trimester (July 1 to September 19, 2025) for the academic year 2025–26. These electives provide a platform for students to engage with specialized, advanced topics in law and social sciences. The University supports selected instructors with travel reimbursement and short-term accommodation.

Format/Structure

Elective courses must include 40 hours of classroom engagement and may be conducted in one of the following structures:

  • Full-Term Elective: 10 weeks (preferred mode), held on weekdays between 2 PM to 7 PM.
  • Course Types:
    • Taught Course: Lecture/discussion-based with examinations.
    • Research Course: Focused on term papers and secondary/primary research.
    • Practice/Clinical Course: Emphasizes simulations, drafting, or fieldwork.

Additional Details

  • Eligibility:
    • Graduate and Postgraduate degrees in Law or Social Sciences (mandatory).
    • 3+ years post-qualification experience (academic or professional) preferred.
    • Alternatively, 7–10 years of legal practice experience.
    • Published authors in the relevant field will be prioritized.
  • Benefits:
    • Reimbursement of one domestic economy-class airfare (round trip).
    • Initial 10 days of accommodation arranged by the university (post-discussion).
