About the Opportunity

Talent Worx is currently seeking a Data Governance and Legal Expert to lead compliance initiatives and develop robust data governance strategies. This position is ideal for legal professionals who have significant experience in data protection laws, compliance frameworks, and cross-functional risk management. The selected candidate will help shape enterprise-wide governance models aligned with GDPR, CCPA, and other regulatory standards.

Role Details

Format/Structure

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement data governance frameworks ensuring compliance with international regulations like GDPR and CCPA
• Work with legal and compliance teams to assess and plug gaps in data policy
• Advise internal stakeholders on the legal ramifications of data usage and storage
• Oversee Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and conduct audits
• Monitor regulatory changes and propose policy updates
• Lead awareness and training programs on data compliance across departments
• Assist with data breach protocols and incident response planning

Candidate Profile:

• Possesses a Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent degree in law
• Demonstrates 5+ years of experience in legal compliance, preferably in data governance
• Brings deep regulatory knowledge and ability to translate legal obligations into operational guidance
• Has excellent communication and project management skills
