About the Event

HPNLU Shimla, through its CIPR, in collaboration with media partner SCC Online and knowledge partner The Indian Society of Artificial Intelligence and Law, is organizing the National Virtual Intellectual Property Rights Essay Writing Competition 2025. The competition aims to promote meaningful research and critical thinking among students and professionals on contemporary issues at the intersection of IPR and technology.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in rigorous academic exploration while standing a chance to win exciting cash prizes and possible publication in the prestigious SCC Online Journal.

Format/Structure

  • Themes (Choose One):
    • Legal Accountability for AI-Driven Intellectual Property Infringements: An analysis of International and Indian Laws
    • Effect of Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2023: Decriminalization of IP Law
  • Eligibility: Open to law students (UG, PG, PhD scholars), academicians, researchers, and practitioners.
  • Word Limit: 6–8 pages (A4), Times New Roman, Font Size: 12 (body) and 14 (headings)
  • Citations: Use SCC/SCC Online preferred. Footnotes only, no endnotes or hyperlinks.
  • Submission Format: MS Word document only.
  • Registration Fee: ₹200 per participant (LLM/PhD included)
