The Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM), established in 1945, is a non-profit educational and spiritual organization promoting heart-based living through meditation. It is one of the 1600 NGOs associated with the United Nations Department of Public Information. For over 75 years, SRCM has worked to foster global harmony and peace.

The Heartfulness Education Trust (HET), a branch of SRCM, is focused on holistic youth development. It offers multiple educational initiatives such as the Heartfulness Way Curriculum (for school students), Brighter Minds (for cognitive and intuitive training), HELP (a life-skills program), and INSPIRE (a teacher capacity-building program).

Initially named the “All India Essay Writing Event” and organized in partnership with the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), it was renamed the Heartfulness Essay Event in 2019. In 2020, it went global in collaboration with UNESCO MGIEP. The 2025 edition is being held in partnership with The Commonwealth, marking the event’s 33rd successful year.
