About the Event
NLU Delhi is delighted to launch the Global Scholars-in-Residence Programme, a fully funded international academic residency designed for outstanding international scholars and professionals.
This programme provides an exceptional opportunity to conduct advanced research, deliver teaching engagements, and contribute to intellectual exchange within NLU Delhi’s academic community.

The initiative aims to remove financial barriers for international scholars while enhancing NLU Delhi’s academic ecosystem by welcoming diverse global perspectives.
Event Timeline
- Applications: Accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.
- Processing Time: Apply at least 3–4 months in advance of the intended visit.
- Minimum Duration of Stay: 2 weeks.
- Maximum Duration: 6 months (with exceptions considered).
- Semester Windows:
- Semester I: Early August – Mid December
- Semester II: Early February – Mid June
Applicants are encouraged to align their proposed stay with academic semesters for maximum engagement.
Format and Structure
The engagement structure of the residency may include:
- Research Collaboration
- Joint research with faculty and research centres.
- Short-term collaborations on academic projects.
- Teaching & Academic Engagement
- Conducting seminar courses (25–30 hours) or short-term courses (10–14 hours).
- Delivering special lectures in compulsory programmes (BA LL.B., LL.M., PhD).
- Presenting work in faculty seminars.
- Participation in Academic Events
- Workshops, training programmes, and student engagements.
- Outputs
- Scholars are expected to share results through public lectures, seminars, or short publications in NLU Delhi journals.
Location and Mode
- Venue: National Law University Delhi, Sector-14, Dwarka, New Delhi – 110078, India.
- Mode: On-campus residency (not remote).
- Funding: Fully funded, including round-trip economy airfare, visa fee reimbursement, guesthouse accommodation, and honorarium.

- Statement of Purpose (max 2000 words).
- Publications (for academicians – 3 recent works).
- Letter of institutional support / references.
- Responsibilities of Scholars:
- Conduct independent work with minimal supervision.
- Avoid external commitments during residency.
- Maintain academic integrity and compliance with NLU Delhi’s code of conduct.
