About the Organization

Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access (IDIA) Hyderabad Chapter is a student-run initiative under the national IDIA network, which is committed to empowering underprivileged and marginalised students through access to legal education. IDIA identifies promising students from non-traditional backgrounds and supports their journey toward law school and beyond. Events like this fundraiser directly support IDIA’s mission to make legal education more inclusive and representative.

About the Event

This unique fundraiser event features two highly accomplished speakers—Sayan Bhattacharya, incoming LL.M. candidate at Harvard Law School, and Dayaar Singla, incoming BCL candidate at the University of Oxford. In two separate, focused sessions, they will share their experiences and strategic insights on the application process for postgraduate legal studies in the USA and the UK.

The sessions are designed for current law students and legal professionals aspiring to apply for LL.M. or postgraduate legal programs abroad. The speakers will address critical aspects such as crafting a strong personal statement, identifying and applying for scholarships, selecting the right programs, and preparing for the overall application journey.

Both sessions will end with an open Q&A, allowing attendees to get their individual queries answered.

Format and Structure

This event comprises two one-hour sessions conducted online.
Each session includes:

• A detailed talk by the speaker on application strategies
• Key insights on preparing a winning personal statement
• Navigating financial aid and scholarship options
• Program selection tips based on personal and academic goals
• A live Q&A segment

Participants may register for one or both sessions, depending on their interests. All sessions will be live and not recorded for later distribution, encouraging active participation.
