About the University/Organization

Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) is a premier legal education institution dedicated to academic excellence, cutting-edge research, and the holistic development of students. The university is renowned for fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership in the field of law and allied disciplines.

To bridge the gap between academia and industry, GNLU established the GNLU Legal Incubation Council (GLIC), a Section 8 company that supports startups and legal ventures. GLIC has successfully funded 35+ Proof of Concepts and Startups and continues to act as a hub for nurturing ideas that redefine legal practice and justice delivery.

The GNLU National Legal Ideathon is a flagship initiative that aligns with GNLU’s vision of promoting legal innovation, encouraging young minds to solve pressing legal challenges, and inspiring a new generation of problem-solvers and entrepreneurs in the legal domain.

About the Event

The GNLU National Legal Ideathon 3.0 (न्याय नवीनीकरणोत्सव 3.0) is designed to provide a platform for students across India to showcase their creativity, problem-solving skills, and innovative solutions to real-world legal issues.

The event will be conducted under two categories:

  • Ideation Track: Focused on proposing creative and impactful solutions within the legal domain.
  • Prototype Track: Encouraging the use of technology, AI, and interdisciplinary tools to develop applications, platforms, or working solutions that enhance legal processes.

The Ideathon goes beyond theory—it equips participants with mentorship, networking opportunities, and exposure to industry leaders, ensuring that their ideas have the potential to transform into real-world solutions.

Format and Structure

The Ideathon consists of structured tracks:

  • Ideation Track: Teams propose innovative solutions addressing legal problems such as access to justice, legal literacy, compliance, or ESG concerns.
  • Prototype Track: Teams create working models, apps, or platforms that utilize technology to improve dispute resolution, digitized judiciary functions, AI-driven legal research, or legal education.

Evaluation Criteria: Submissions will be judged on novelty, relevance, feasibility, legal impact, and innovation. Plagiarized or non-original work will result in disqualification.

Team Composition: Each team must consist of 2–3 members.
