About the Event

The Trithi Mediation Competition is designed to provide law students with a real-world mediation experience where they will engage in structured dispute resolution. Participants will take on the roles of mediators and negotiating parties (Client & Counsel), working to resolve conflicts through dialogue and cooperation.

Format & Structure

Eligibility

  • Open to 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB students from a Bar Council of India-recognized university.
  • Each institution can send up to two teams.

Team Composition

  • Three members per team:
  • Mediating Pair (Client & Counsel) – May switch roles between rounds.
  • Mediator – A dedicated role throughout the competition.

Competition Rounds

  • Preliminary Rounds (March 20, 2025): Each team competes in two sessions as both a Requesting and a Responding Party.
  • Semi-Final Round (March 21, 2025): The top four teams qualify for a knock-out round.
  • Final Round (March 21, 2025): The top two teams compete for the championship.

Participants will be judged on their mediation strategies, communication skills, and ability to facilitate dispute resolution.


Location

The competition will be held offline at ICFAI Law School, India.

  • Accommodation is available on a first-come, first-served basis at ₹500 per person per day.
  • Payment details will be shared via email upon successful registration.

Competition Guidelines

  • Confidential Information: Teams receive details 20 minutes before their session.
  • Caucus Sessions: Allowed once per round (5 min in prelims, 7.5 min in finals).
  • Dress Code: Business formals for all rounds and ceremonies.
  • Code of Conduct: Any form of misconduct, unethical behavior, or disclosure of institutional identity will lead to immediate disqualification.
