About the Role
A&O Shearman is currently inviting applications for the position of International Arbitration Associate (3-5 PQE) to join their Abu Dhabi or Dubai office. This is a permanent, full-time role in the firm’s renowned International Arbitration Group.
The role is ideal for dynamic legal professionals with a strong background in litigation and arbitration, particularly in sectors such as infrastructure, commercial disputes, and investment treaty arbitration. You will work closely with global teams on complex, high-stakes, and cross-border disputes.
Responsibilities
- Draft and review legal submissions, including pleadings, witness statements, and expert reports.
- Represent clients in international commercial and investment arbitration proceedings.
- Support the team in managing cases under major arbitral rules such as ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, SIAC, and ICSID.
- Conduct legal research and contribute to strategy formulation.
- Interface with clients and co-counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and training initiatives.
Key Requirements
- Qualification: Common Law qualified lawyer
- Experience: 3-5 years PQE in international arbitration or litigation
- Skills:
- Strong drafting and analytical abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commercial awareness and problem-solving mindset
- Experience with high-profile, complex legal matters
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced global environment

Eligibility
- Applicants must be qualified to practice under a Common Law jurisdiction.
