The International Debate Competition organized by Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University aims to provide a dynamic platform for students to engage in critical discourse and sharpen their public speaking and legal reasoning skills. The central theme of the competition is “U.N. has Failed in Maintaining International Peace and Security.” The debate is crafted to encourage participants to articulate persuasive arguments backed by legal frameworks and global perspectives. It is especially beneficial for students keen on developing a global legal outlook and preparing for international moot courts and policy debates.

The event will be conducted in a one-day, offline format featuring oral debate rounds. Each team will consist of two participants who will argue either for or against the motion. The debate will follow a knockout format, and evaluation will be based on parameters such as content, delivery, rebuttals, clarity of arguments, adherence to time limits, and knowledge of international law and policy. Selected teams will be notified via email following the selection phase.

Q1: Who is eligible to participate?
A: Law students currently enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year law program from Indian or foreign universities.
Q2: Is a recommendation/reference required?
A: No, recommendations or references are not required at the time of registration.
Q3: Will all participants receive a certificate?
A: Yes, all participants who successfully attend and compete will be awarded certificates of participation.
Q4: Is there a registration fee?
A: Yes. Indian teams must pay ₹750 and international teams must pay $10 USD.
Q5: Can international students apply?
A: Yes, international students currently enrolled in law programs are eligible to participate.
